Dean Bass decided to give the new Sonik SK4 14' rods a whirl last weekend (14th Dec 2008), on his favourite casting field. It's fair to say that he was most impressed with the rod's performance on the day with Dean's best cast going over 250 yards. 'Casts nice, felt nice, what more could you want from a rod of this value. Top rod!" commented Dean after half a dozen casts.

"I'm sure these rods are capable of even bigger distances under the right conditions," added Dean, "I plan to take them on the tournement field in 2009 to really find out what they are capable of doing."

Dean utilised what is known as a back cast, making it look all too simple to achieve extreme distances. The inherent power of the SK4 blank together with a super-fast recovery means that long distances are very achievable with minimum effort. Bite detection is also excellent thanks to the quality of carbon fibre materials used to manufacture the rod. All in all, the Sonik beach casting rods achieve the perfect balance between outright casting power and total fishability.
