Coyle Water in Ayrshire and Swannswater in Stirling both hosted Sonik Demo days recently, with each event well attended and lots of interest in the rods, reels and lines on show. The accuracy and distance casting competitions proved very popular with one angler at each event winning both legs. At Coyle, it was Kevin Andrews who stole the show, outcasting his competitors, whilst at Swannswater, it was young Charles Devine who did the same, both anglers winning Sonik fly lines for their efforts.

On the fishing front, Hugh Munroe showed the rest the way to go home with an excellent result of 8 fish for 16lbs 10oz, caught in just 2 hours in difficult conditions, as the water was quite coloured due to recent heavy rainfall. At Swannswater, Ronnie Codona won himself a Sonik voucher for catching the largest fish of the morning, with a lovely Blue Trout of 6lb 15oz.

At both events, all the attendees enjoyed trying out the Sonik tackle with many taking advantage of the rod, reel and line deals on offer and walking away with some great new kit to use in 2009. Many thanks to Colin Johnstone at Coyle for being such a genial host and to Morna and Alistair at Swanswater for the same. We look forward to coming back to both these waters in the summer when the weather is warm and the fishing at its best.
