Manningford Trout Fishery in deepest Wiltshire is one of the most beautiful fisheries that we have visited so far on our roadshow. The main 4-acre pool is surrounded by mature vegetation and trees, and the water is alive with all forms of marine life. The trout average well over 3lbs, with plenty double figure specimens available.
Fishery manager Malcolm Hunt explained the likelihood of some double figure fish appearing on the day. He runs the fishery on the basis that everyone should leave having caught fish and enjoyed their Manningford experience.
Our day was an overwhelming success. Everyone was enthusiastic about the Sonik products, and the fishing was absolutely fantastic. Despite the dreadful bright sunshine some fantastic fish were landed, including three double figure fish. There was one fish that weighed in at over 10lbs that was caught on a Sonik SK3 6-wt showing that they have the guts when it matters. Although temperatures rarely rose above zero, there was no ice on the water, and there was a barbeque on the go throughout the day to keep us fed and warm.
Manningford Trout Fishery, we will certainly be looking to return in the Summer!
