I took my sk4 carp rods out last weekend and gave them a good work out. I was fishing a private lake, using 16lb line and still cast 115 yds and I'm no good at casting a long way and was well impressed. I also fed the margins and put one of my 3.25lb rods slack line down the margin, and had a carp close in - the sk4 played it great under my tip , great rods and would recommend them to anyone. I bought a pair of SK3 2.75 carp rods for my son and I used them the first time this weekend. Managed to have cast around and play a few fish with them myself and I can honestly say that I was really very impressed with these rods. They look very smart with the subtly shaped full duplon handle and I really liked the matt finish to the blank. Fishing a large water we took fish from the margins and also at ranges of up to 100 yards and they were simply a joy to use. No problem at all casting at range and yet they still managed to retain enough feel to really enjoy playing fish under the tip. I used my new set of sk4 carp rods 3.25lb on my French fishing trip this year. I have caught carp in the UK and have been very impressed with the action of the rod. I started my session in france hooked into 3 carp and then came the cat. The first 56 lbs and then a 64 lbs, next came the monster 115 lbs my pb beaten by 25 lbs. The rod handled the fish great and being caught on 18 lbs line made it even better.

As an all round angler my 1.75tc twintip rod is performing very well having caught several large double figure carp. It handled the fish well and was more than able to cast pva carp rigs. What a deal, I thought as I was going through the Sonik website. Time to treat myself I thought and put by well used Greys rods to rest. When the rods arrived I was more than happy - my first trip out I managed 3 carp to 25lb. Dear all at Sonik sports - I have fished nearly all my life, since I was 3yrs old and started carp fishing when I was 10/11 years old. I am now 53 years old and still fishing, so as you can see I have a wealth of experience in fishing and caught a fair few. Looking for new, good quality carp rods had become a real issue until the Sonik SK4 came to my attention. I had spent a lot of time researching other manufacturers and their particular ranges. They all seemed to be very much the same, or if you wanted a rod full of features and innovation you'd have a price tag to match. After reading and hearing so many good things I decided to give this 'Sonik company' a look. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the company had directors formerly of Greys, a brand that I'd come to trust and purchase my previous rods from. At the time, I was using Greys Prodigys, but due to the water I was fishing I needed a rod with a bit more guts, as mine were only 2.5 test curve. I finally rang to purchase my rods and was told they were waiting on a delivery, the young lady told me she could take my number and as soon as they arrived she'd call me (I believe her name was Jill).
