The rod is great,feels really nice in the hand and so easy to cast with. As for the service I received from Sonik first class,my rod arrived next day as promised, I would be more than happy to deal with Sonik in the future.

I was fortunate enough to have recently won the 9'6" four piece Sonik fly rod in a contest run by Total Flyfisher. I must say I was very impressed with the rods cosmetics and the shaped handle is brilliant as I have suffered a spinal injury which causes cramp in my fingers if rods have to thin a handle. The handle on the Sonik rod is very comfortable. I haven't had a chance to fish with the rod as yet as I have just received it; however, I have tried casting with it on a lawn and it has a suberb action. I also just before winning the 9'6" four piece model actually nearly bought the Sonik 9'6" three piece rod; however, I decided to go for the 9 ft three piece Sonik fly rod to do some grayling fishing in Scotland and I'm glad I did, I must say I wasn't disappointed, this rod has the sort of action I would have expected from a rod three times the cost. In fact I'm so impressed that I'm considering expirementing with the 9ft three piece Sonik rod on reservoirs as a back up to the 9'6" rod. The 9 ft Sonik rod though designed for lighter fishing would handle average to larger sized trout at moderate distances without difficulty. I particularly want to try Lady Bower with the 9 ft Sonik as there is a good depth of water at the edge and casting very long distances isn't required as the fish tend to be near the edge if people don't disturb them with bad casting. I also fancy a crack at the reservoir above; Derwent, (where the Dam Busters practiced), using the three piece 9 ft Sonik fly rod as the fish are a wild but fairly loch sized stock. Advanced booking fishing for Derwent can be arranged through the Lady Bower ticket office.

Bought the SK4030 9ft fly rod in August and used it in early Sept. Very impressed with the action and strength for a 5/6 weight especially dealing with 6 rainbows/blue trout around 3lb plus at Walton Hall fishery. Stuart Willox Wakefield

The first time I used my new rod, I landed 5 trout 3.5 - 4lb. 3 rainbow and 2 browns. You may not think this is alot of fish but the conditions were atrocious a howling nor'wester, under normal circumstances impossible to fish but with the extra 12" I was able to cast much better than my friend who had a 9'rod. (naturally i'm trying to talk him into purchasing a SONIK.May I add the sk4 fly line also compliments the rod well done. Sorry no photos at this stage.

I bought the 5-6 for dry fly .very impressed so I bought the7-8 for the heavy stuff another good rod

Well what can I say, I purchased a 9'6" 6/7 SK4 and have never had so much fun in all my life. The action of the rod is superb this in turn makes playing and landing fish a pleasure. In relation to the Sonik company all I can say "they have everything right". A large cheers to John and the crew for setting up a very classy, affordable, alternative fishing experience.

After a few weeks of research and reading lots of good reviews for Sonik fly rods, I placed order for a Sonik SK4 10 foot 7/8 fly rod at 11.35am on 24/09/08. Within 2 hours I had an Email notification informing me that the Rod had been desptched. Sure enough, the next morning, a City Link van pulled up outside and the driver handed me a small tube. I must say that the 4 peice Rod presentation in a quality cloth bag its own rod tube was impressive! Then as for the rod itself.... as it emerged from the bag was all I had expected. Top notch feel and looks of far more expensive kit. I took it fishing the next day. It cast well and I soon caught a 2lb 8oz rainbow. The Rod action was very good and it transmitted every twist and jink the fish made. I am very pleased with my purchase and now I am looking to add a couple of Sonik reels to replace my ageing ones.
