Ordered 2 sk4 16ft f/s rods at 9.00am - at my door at 12.00 the next day - WOW now thats what I call delivery service. Took one out for a play, cast 6oz on problem at all. Casting was so easy and I was casting further or as far as my pendulum rods(will be selling them now!) with a simple OTG cast and I think in time I'll add more yards to my casts with these rods. Thank you Sonik for an excellent rod and excellent service. Proud to own a sk4.
Posted 27/07/2010I have just purchased 2 SK4 rods from Tony's Tackle to use in Ireland last week. I found the bite detection excellent. So much that I came overall 12th in the competition with a zone win on day 2. First class rod.
Posted 05/02/2010The Sonik sk4 14ft 5-7oz is a good all round rod for rocks and beach - looks good and casts good.
Posted 24/11/2009Just purchased an SK4. Rod looks and feels great. Tried it next day and was chuffed to bits. My casting has improved by over 30yds. Rod is far superior in every way compaired to my ABU rod. What a cracking rod Sonik have produced in the SK4. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good priced, good quality rod with huge potential, aswell as Sonik's Rapidex warranty. Simply unbeatable.
Posted 04/11/2009The sk4 14' has the backbone for kelp fishing matched with great bite detection.
Posted 23/10/2009Having never seen one of these rods up close, I actually couldn't believe the quality for the price when I unwrapped it from its box. I had never used a multiplyer reel before and was quite nervous as I swang the tip of this rod over my shoulder for an effortless and immensely satisfying release. What can I say but the rod simply casts itself....and a long way too! Thanks a lot for a reason to enjoy the rain!
Posted 14/10/2009I recently purchased, direct from Sonik, a SK4 16' multiplier beach rod. I chose the muliplier verison after receiving some useful advice from Sonik about fixed spool ringing verses multiplier ring. The rod arrived very quickly. Unfortunatley 2 of the rings were slightly damaged.....this was not a problem as Sonik replaced the rod in less than 24 hours!!! I used the rod recently for the first time a Huttoft in Lincolnshire. It is a very good rod to cast with. You need to slow the cast down compared with shorter rods, but when you do it loads and releases smoothly. I am not a good pendulum caster, but this long rod produces casts, under fishing conditions, as long as I have ever cast before........and more easily and reliably. The SK4 16' is a good rod and Sonik's customer service is very impressive. Thanks! ( I am now think about a Bass rod!)
Posted 22/09/2009I've been using the SK4 16' rod for about 3 weeks now and can recommend it without hesitation. The rod is an absolute pleasure to fish with. Definately money well spent.
Posted 19/09/2009I have recently bought a SK4 16' sea fishing rod. I have now used it twice and have been very pleased with both the finish of the rod and the way it has fished. In addition to this the service from Sonik has been excellent.
Posted 10/09/2009Superb service & a wonderful product. Sold on SONIK, hook, line & sinker.....
Posted 10/09/2009After being recommended by a fishing friend John Chisholm I decided to purchase an sk4 14ft beach caster and I was not disappointed. The rod casts like a dream and with the extra length it makes it so easy, I've improved on my distance with the sk4 rod. Since buying the rod I've put it through its paces fishing from the rocks/beach and rivers in the north east and scotland. The rod handles itself fishing off the rocks easily pulling fish through the weed. It's just at home fishing the clean ground for flounders as it is on the rocks for cod, the bite detection is very good. All in all the rod is a perfect all rounder and really suited to the north east coast fishing and at that price it just makes it better. I'm very pleased with my purchase, its definately the best rod I've ever bought, would recommend the sk4 14ft beachcaster to anyone.
Posted 22/08/2009I was most impressed with the service I received when buying my new rod. I ordered it by phone in the afternoon and by dinner time the next day it had arrived with a complimentery hat to boot. When I used the rod that evening it was awesome - great action, adjustable reel mount, so I got the perfect angle for me and my distance has increased on casting. What can I say - excellent service, excellent rod. Thanks Sonik.
Posted 13/08/2009Well I finally did it, I bought an sk4 16ft multiplier rod. After months of reading the reviews and wondering if I could to it justice, I went along for a chat and a look at the Sonik range of rods at the CLA Gamefair at Belvoir Castle. After chatting to the team and having a good look at the full range it was clear it was time to take the plunge. A few days later the courier delivered the rod in perfect condition! I can't say enough how impressed I was with the time and generosity shown to us by the guys at Sonik. The equipment is second to none and from a friendly welcoming company. I would say I have gained 30 yards on my ground cast so far in just 3 sessions with the new rod. I have only caught flatties with it so far, but I was pleased to see positive bite ditection at over 120 yard cast from pretty small fish. When the smoothounds are feeding I'm hoping to get some photos to show off what can be done with the rod! I will be back for new rods and tackle over the following months. Thanks Sonik and well done. matt simmons proud sk4 16" owner !
Posted 12/08/2009This week I got my first chance to try out my new Sonik sk4 16' fixed spool rod. My reason for buying the rod was to increase my casting distance. With advice from the Sonik team to slow the cast down and use an off the ground technique the rod exceeded my expectations. I now need to buy extra line for my reel!
Posted 09/08/2009ROD DELIVERED SAFE AND SOUND AND VERY PROMPT, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY NICE ROD TO HANDLE AND VERY PLEASENT TO CAST, NOT HARD TO PUT A 50Z WEIGHT 100 YDS.
Posted 24/07/2009I just want to say thanks to the Sonik team for a great service. I spoke to Tim who was very helpful and the SK4 13'6" rod I ordered arrived very well packed the next day. I tried the rod out on Hayling beach coupled with a 6500 CT mag elite. It casts like a dream and bite detection even from small black bream was spot on. Thanks...John
Posted 08/07/2009I have spent some time researching before buying a new rod (thats the kind of guy I am!) I have even borrowed very well known makes which cost a lot more, my honest opinion - they were done! I honestly believe after all the research and testing, the SK4 is the best I have encounted even against rods costing a lot more. This rod is not good value for money it is amazing value for money. I have read a lot of literature on lots of rods and took the plunge on this one and I am over the moon. I can save you a lot of research - it is not often I recommend, but I have no hesitation with this.
Posted 30/06/2009I've been using the Sonik sk4 16ft so I put it to the test on a hard venue for a shot at thornback rays. The rod itself is light yet powerful and on this venue you need distance. The sk4 proved superb in casting those large baits with ease, the rod handling the pulling in of rays over distance and rough ground, with suprerb bite detection. I had 2 thornbacks and a doggie on this sk4 series which I found superb. Sonik just gets better, Cheers Shaun Ripley.
Posted 03/05/2009I received the sk4 rod superbly packaged and delivered the next morning. I was very impressed with the quality of the rod. This has also been the impression of my 2 fishing partners(I think they want one too). I like the feel and action and am now just short of time to use it enough. It is also fairly light for such a powerful action. Top stuff keep it up Sonik!
Posted 16/04/2009I was introduced to Sonik by a friend who told me to purchase a sk4 14' sea rod as my first rod as he rated them very highly. All I can say is that he wasn't wrong as the service from this company is second to none, as is the build quality and performance of this equipment. It is outstanding. I recommend these rods to anyone. Cheers to all at Sonik once again Shaun Moscrop
Posted 12/03/2009I've been using the 14ft SK4 this winter and have to say it's great for everything from kelp-shredding to scratching for whiting, which makes it a perfect rod for the roving matches. I like to fish all along the Northumberland coast. Encouraged by the performance, I wanted to get something purely for clean-ground and long-range work and decided on the 16ft version. Having never used a long rod before, I have to say I was blown away! It's very light (50 gms lighter than my 14 footer) and casts very easily, even in quite windy conditions and has a very good tip for detecting those shy bites. After just a few casts I'd quite forgotten about those extra two feet. Following a generally disappointing winter season, all I need now is for a few decent fish to oblige!
Posted 10/03/2009I own the sk4 14' and every session it is a joy to use. The build quality is 2nd to none, it's very light but so stable in even in very windy conditions, yet the bite detection is amazing, a top rod highly recommended.
Posted 08/03/2009I popped into the Sonik base in Blyth to have a look at the 14ft SK4 sea rod. The guys there welcomed me and i was shown the rod, after a look at the rod and a small demo, i was hooked. The guys at the base were very friendly and know their stuff. I walked out with a 14ft rod and have only been for a few casts with it down the harbour. I was instantly impressed, the finish is excellent quality and the rod is nice and light. The rod casts really well, im sure after a few sessions i will be casting further than i ever have. The adjustable reel seat is a good send and of good quality. I got this rod as a clean to rough ground rod. I have rods at home that were 2 - 3 times the price of this rod, this rod is on par with them. I cant wait to get out there for a fishing session and to catch some fish! Thanks to tim and the guys at Sonik.
Posted 13/02/2009When I order the rod online the note said they were out of stock for 14 days. Ordered it anyway and waited. Communication was excellent from SONIK and I was kept informed of my order progress via email. Received email to advise rods were now in stock and it was delivered in 24hours as promised. It arrived by courier and was well wrapped in cardboard and bubble wrap, its triangular packaging looked like a giant Toblerone chocolate bar. I hurridly unpacked it to reveal a splendid looking rod, well made, light and well balanced. Now to go fishing with it at the first opportunity. Excellent service from SONIK.
Posted 12/02/2009If any one needs good rod for all situations and wants to improve his casting should try sk4. I bought one and am very happy with it.
Posted 11/02/2009SK4 is a quality product and reasonable light in weight. Rod casts beautifully, with plenty of power to propel a 6oz weight some distance. Bite detection is very responsive. The lock sliding reel seat is great, which makes it very easy to make any adjustments to find your own reel position. Sonik packaging is great and fast shipment. Rod is well worth the money.
Posted 10/02/2009I have just received my SK4SR030 rod. The delivery time was fast and all the notifications via email were very informative. The rod is excellent and I managed to do some very long casts. As with all long rods the retrieval strain on the arms is a litle tiring, but the sensitivity of the nose during a bite and the long effortless casts make up for it.
Posted 09/02/2009Love fishing with these rods. Braid on one and mono on the other. Bite detection was superb on both, even from small flatties.*****
Posted 29/01/2009just recieved the sonic sk4 looks fantastic cant wait to try it out
Posted 25/12/2008I bought the sk4 rod based on Sea Angler reviews and the recommendation of a friend. I have only used the rod once but found it very 'user friendly' having had to take it easy on the cast due to me recovering from a broken collar bone. All in all - excellent rod and excellent service, highly recommended. Steve Hedley
Posted 23/12/2008Was given an opportunity to try out the SK4 recently. Was very impressed with the rod - perfectly suited to fishing Heavy/Rough ground. Can handle a 7oz lead no probs and also pulling out of the rocks and kelp without a grumble...didn't catch anything but the rod was given a good going over. Try one - Buy one!!!
Posted 23/12/2008i used my new sonik sk4 16' fixed spool for the first time on fri 12 december.not a good day for fishing as i had a storm force wind blowing in from off the sea.it coped realy well.remaining steady and still showing bites.the power caught me a few times with the line sliping off my finger during the cast.considering the conditions i still managed 80 yards+ which was more than most.overall very happy indeed.
Posted 14/12/2008I bought 2 sk4 14" beach rods they looked awesome when i took them out the bag. They are so light and thin you would expect then to be really soft rods but they are quite stiff. They are brilliant to fish with super casting distances and will pull a lead out the rough stuff absolutely brilliant i love them to bits.

Posted 02/12/2008Very pleaed with my new SK4 5-7oz rod, picked it up from the guys at Blyth, showroom like an Alladin's cave! Rod is excellent, finish very good, reel seat works very well. Casts 150 yds using a Brighton cast on the field with 6 ozs using a 30 year old Daiwa 6rm. Tip rock steady in the winds of the North East coast, and I have caught with it so it must be good!!
Posted 01/12/2008very happy with the sk4 rod great distance
Posted 30/11/2008I recently purchased the Sonik SK4 14ft rough ground rod and I'm absolutely thrilled with the build quality and performance. On my first cast it felt as though I'd been fishing with it for years. One of the guys I was fishing with asked if he could have a go and was so impressed with it that he's now gone and bought one for himself!!
