MORE ABOUT GEORGE ALLAN #TEAMSONIK
I’m 23 years of age with an unhealthy addiction to Carp fishing!
I have enjoyed angling for as long as I can remember, it is a passion that has been inherited from my father and late uncle. It all started with a Shakespeare box, a supply of maggots and pole in hand, anticipating the next time I’ll witness the float disappear. I was satisfied with Roach, Bream and the odd Perch however I’ll never forget the first Carp that came along, a Crucian that gave me a fight like nothing before! I’m certain that’s the moment that got me hooked.
After starting my first job and purchasing a car, my priority was to equip myself with a full Carp fishing setup and I soon found myself on the bank most weekends come rain or shine, this is still the case today. Being confined to weekends means I often have to contend with angling pressure, I try my best to make the most of my time off of the bank by preparing my gear and bait to give myself that edge. I am a mobile angler therefore having gear that is compact and lightweight, yet robust enough to last a lifetime is very important to me.
There is no sound more satisfying than a ticking clutch, especially when time in between has prolonged and the experience is shared. I enjoy meeting new people and socialising with good friends, carp fishing has provided so many valuable and exciting experiences throughout my lifetime which I aim to document and capture through my social media and photography.
I adore the great outdoors, the peace, tranquility and wildlife. I cherish every moment spent lakeside and I make every effort to ensure I am awake for first light, there is no better time to watch the water for signs of Carp.
