MORE ABOUT HENRIK HANSEN #TEAMSONIK

Hi all, I’m Henrik, I’m in my 40’s and live up here in Norway with my wife and daughter.
I have an engineering company together with a friend of mine and have had so for the last 14 years.

I was born in Denmark but moved to Norway after meeting my wife over 17 years ago now.
I started fishing after getting a rod and reel from a friend of my parents for my 4th birthday and I have never looked back since. Since then, fishing has taken me all over the world and become not just a passion, but a part of who I am as the man I am today.

By the age of 8, my parents moved their camper van to a lake called Skanderborg-sø , it was there that I met some English anglers, and became totally obsessed with coarse-angling. By the age of 11, I started guiding coarse-anglers (mainly from England) around the big coarse lakes in my area, such as Skanderborg, Silkeborg and Bygholm-sø.

My first of memory of a carp is from losing one on my pole, I was blown away by the power and got in contact with my local coarse-angler’s club foreman, to help me get started with carp fishing.

I soon had my very first carp. And was totally lost to carp fishing. I was 11-12 years old by then, I look back on the time now 30 years later, and it fills me with emotion and joy. Carp fishing has really given me so so many fantastic memories and friends.

These days, I do most of my fishing here in Norway where I live, and I must say that I feel spoiled here for where I can now go and enjoy my fishing. Norway is so amazing and is an unspoiled place to fish, that I must really say, that even though our fish, are not monsters, it probably is my favorite place to fish. I love to catch big fish, but must say that I feel blessed with the ability to love the fishing for what it is and not just big fish. I´ve been catching big carp in many countries all over the World, but can still get totally overwhelmed over a 10 kg fish. My travelling has giving me some amazing friends from all walks of life, and three of my travels I met my dear friend Frank Warwick. I have him to thank for joining Sonik.

I really love working with Sonik. Ian and the boys are brilliant people and the fact that I can share it all with one of my very best friends in life, makes it all perfect for me! So thank you all for having me guys, I’m really looking forward to the the years to come!

Kind regards,

Henrik Hansen
