I have cast the rod and it has cast very well - 250yds in fact, and in my eyes, that’s very good for a fishing rod. Ok, I do a lot of fishing in the Clacton area, which means shallow beaches, so distance can play a big part. I have fished this area since I was a young lad and over the years I have used lots of different rods to fish these beaches and I have found that I like to use a rock/mixed ground rod. In particular, the 16’ Sk4 and Sk3 bass proved popular and accounted for some very good catches...
Dean Bass and Terry Edmonds decided to give the new Sonik SK4 14' rods a whirl last weekend (14th Dec 2008), on their favourite casting field. It's fair to say that both of them were most impressed with the rod's performance on the day with Dean's best cast going over 250 yards. 'Casts nice, felt nice, what more could you want from a rod of this value. Top rod!" commented Dean after half a dozen casts...
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Burradon match angler Geoff King. Geoff is one of the North East’s most respected and successful sea anglers.
If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in need of rescuing along the North Tyneside Coastline, then it is more than likely that you will come into contact with the volunteer members of the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade (T.V.L.B.).
