At the heart of the MAGLEV is an ultra-long 45mm distance casting spool, designed to maximise line lay and deliver effortless extreme-range performance. Combined with Slow O.S.C. oscillation, producing perfectly spaced coils, the result is flawless line lay, increased casting efficiency and consistent accuracy, cast after cast.

Power & Precision Engineering

Built without compromise, the MAGLEV features an ultra-light yet incredibly tough magnesium body, paired with an advanced forged carbon rotor for exceptional rigidity and balance under load. Internally, precision CNC machine-cut brass and aluminium gearing delivers unrivalled smoothness, strength and long-term durability.

A stainless steel mainshaft and wormshaft gear system ensures rock-solid alignment and dependable performance, while 11 + 1 shielded stainless steel ball bearings keep rotation silky smooth and effortlessly controlled even under extreme pressure.

Advanced Line Management

The innovative IntraSpool™ floating rotor line guard represents a major step forward in line control. By eliminating the traditional gap beneath the spool and maintaining consistent spacing regardless of spool height adjustment, it dramatically reduces the chance of line slipping behind the spool while allowing precise fine-tuning of line lay.

Twin captive sprung line clips provide secure, line-friendly control for repeated distance casting, while the oversized ceramic twist-free line roller ensures smooth, controlled line recovery every time.

The Advanced Cross Carbon Quick-Torque drag system offers rapid, precise adjustment with an impressive 30kg of drag power, giving you absolute confidence against hard-fighting fish at range. Instant anti-reverse and micro line-lay adjustment washers allow you to fine-tune performance to perfection.

A first for Sonik, the MAGLEV also features a built-in lubrication port, allowing easy maintenance and ensuring long-term smoothness. Supplied with lubricating oil, it’s a reel designed to perform flawlessly session after session.

Despite its strength, the MAGLEV carp reels remain impressively lightweight, with the 14000 model weighing just 556g and the 18000 at 566g. A silk-black anodised CNC aluminium handle, finished with a classic wood barrel grip, delivers a confident, refined feel in hand, while the HollowCurve™ seamless one-piece bail arm provides maximum rigidity and smooth line flow.

With a 4.8:1 gear ratio, the MAGLEV retrieves up to 1.17m per turn (14000) and 1.27m per turn (18000) — combining speed, control and effortless power.
